Thank you

Thank you for gifts on Giving Tuesday

On behalf of Mission Dove Cambodia, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous Giving Tuesday contribution. Your support plays a vital role in helping us continue our mission to provide a safe place for 200 Phnom Penh young people to appreciate a good space to relax, learn and chat.

Your gift directly impacts our ability to make on impact through the YESIC program. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to create opportunities and bring hope to those who need it most.

Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to the power of compassion, and your kindness reminds us of the incredible community we are blessed to have. You contributed towards the $7,840 to the YESIC Program. Thank you for believing in our cause and for making a difference in the lives we serve.

With sincere appreciation,

ONYX Graduating Students

Graduation for the 17 ONYX students this year was a three-day retreat in Siem Reap from 29th November to 1st December 2024.  It was a great time for all the students to celebrate their special day.

It started with one question that I ask each of them to reflect on the Onyx program as they finished. The question was What does the Onyx mean to you? They said Onyx is like a medicine, a connection, a family, a counseling, a safe place, a reshape my gift, is a motivation.

On the last day each of them got their certificate. While we gave them the certificate some of them shared their experience of the year with Onyx. They thanked God that they had a chance to study the Onyx course, they felt safe to be a part of the Onyx program get to know God more about faith, and have a great relationship with their classmate.

Sreynear Story

My name is Sreynear from Elim Church in Phnom Penh. I have been attending Elim Church for a while. One day, my pastor called me and said, "Do you want to take the Onyx class? He explained it is a 10-month leadership training course class.  He encouraged me to consider doing it. I have only been a believer for a little over a year and so I said yes I would like to study. He then encouraged me to fill out the application form.

At the Onyx classes I have seen my faith to grow, and I have learnt how to connect with God in different ways, not just one way.

I found the Onyx classes different from other classes. In the Onyx classes the trainer and students are equal, and I really learnt a lot from them through the trainer and classmates because there are facilitators who allow us to express our opinions.

For me, Onyx is a class that helped me be connected to God, and with those around me.

Faithwalking Graduates

On November 19 eight young women graduated from a nine-month program conducted on Saturday mornings at the Mission Dove Cambodia office.  This program encourages women to focus on their spiritual formation.

Young adults sharing their life stories in a safe community and reflecting on how God has shaped and continues to shape them.
